How to Unlock FFXIV’s Pandaemonium Raid in Endwalker

And how its loot system works

Being the latest raid to be released, it’s obvious that Pandaemonium is the hardest raid in the game right now. It’ll reward players with gear with the highest levels but only if they get through the strongest bosses first. Preparing for this raid would require some amounts of FFXIV Gil and a lot of practice.

How to Unlock Pandaemonium

Pandaemonium isn’t a single dungeon raid. It’s made up of four ‘circles’ so to speak, and each one has its own bosses for players to deal with. To unlock it, the FF14 account owner must have completed the Main Scenario quest for Endwalker, and then talk to Nemjiji in Old Sharlayan. You’ll start ‘The Crystal from Beyond’ quest which will lead to more quests that will unlock each circle of Pandaemonium.

‘Where Familiars Dare’ will unlock the First Circle, where players will encounter Erichthonios. ‘Under the Surface’ unlocks the Second Circle, where you’ll need to defeat the Hippokampos. ‘The Fires of Creation’ opens the way to the Third Circle where a Phoinix resides. The Fourth Circle will open with the quest, ‘Who Wards the Warders?’, where nothing is as it seems.

While the mystery about the Pandaemonium awaits new developments, by this time you’ve unlocked all the parts of the raid. This is a requirement to unlock the Savage difficulty of the raids. Just talk to Nemjiji again to unlock the difficulty after completing all the quests.

Next, we’ll get into what you can get for completing each circle.

Rewards and Loot

Completing each circle will allow you and your friends to receive tokens. You can only receive tokens from the raids once a week, and you’ll have to wait for the weekly reset to get more. These tokens can be exchanged for equipment, though some equipment might need more tokens than others.

These tokens are also named, which also designates which piece of equipment you can exchange them for. For example, you can’t use Unsung Helms of Asphodelos to exchange for body armor or use the ones for boots to get gloves. That means there’s still a bit of randomness to what tokens you get, and you still have to spend a few weeks to complete the set.

Things become a little different with the Savage difficulty. Completing a raid will give you a box that will drop a specific piece of gear. You don’t have to open it immediately, giving you time to switch to another job so you’re sure it’s a piece for that class.

Different circles reward different equipment boxes. The First Circle gives boxes for accessories (bracelets, earrings, rings, and necklaces), for example, and the Fourth is the only one to give weapons. Depending on the circle you do, you can also get Discal Tomestones or an FFXIV mount.

More than that, you can also get tokens (Asphodelos Mythos) to exchange for equipment in Savage Difficulty. However, you can only get 4 types of tokens, depending on which Circle you’ve done. They’re numbered from 1-4, designating which circle they came from. It also denotes what they can be exchanged for, as Asphodelos Mythos 4 can only be exchanged for weapons and chest pieces, while 2 and 3 have more variety in what they can be exchanged for.

Like in normal mode, you have to collect more than one of the tokens to exchange it for equipment. There’s also a weekly reset, so it can take some time to collect each one for your FFXIV account.

Take note that if a majority of the players have not collected the weekly rewards, the raid will give two chests. Otherwise, there will only be one. Doing the fights out of order can also make you miss out on rewards, so take note of that.

Conclusions

It’s going to be a long journey to getting that coveted 580 gear. With rewards being a weekly reset instead of daily, there are long gaps to fill in between waiting for the next reset. Ideally, that time can be used to practice fighting the bosses or planning when the next raid will be with friends. Well, there is the raid simulator site, but since it’s still a work in progress it might be hard to perfectly simulate Pandaemonium.

In the end, this gear will be unlike any other, and it’s in your best interest to save up FF14 Gil for this raid. You’ll need it to reach the required gear score for the raid, as well as keep supplies for better chances of success. There’s the option to buy FFXIV Gil if needing immediate cash, though, do so at your own risk.

The gear from this raid won’t be made available in the FFXIV store, so this is the only way to get them. It can also be a great way to bond with your friends or help others get their gear.
